The Art of Yacht Engineering
Trimm offers the full package when it comes to yacht engineering.
Our engineering services are offered to shipbuilders either on an arrangement and/or detailed level. The advances Trimm has made in 3D engineering have seen us engineer some of the largest superyachts to date. Our teams are capable of using various software solutions such as ShipConstructor, AVEVA, Rhinoceros 3D, Siemens NX, Inventor, Solid Edge and Siemens NX.

Unprecedented Engineering
Construction Engineering
Trimm Design translates concept and class requirements into a buildable, class-compliant structure. We engineer hull, deck and superstructure—steel, aluminium or composite—so the yacht can be built efficiently, safely and to specification.
What we deliver:
-
Structural layout — girders, bulkheads, frames, decks, pillars, coamings
-
Scantling & class calculations (DNV, LR, RINA, BV, ISO)
-
Hull & deck plans — profiles, sections, local reinforcements
-
Foundations for engines, stabilisers, cranes, gearboxes
-
Watertight/fire integrity — doors, hatches, penetrations, coamings
-
Material, weight & CoG control with MTO/BOM output
-
Production & assembly drawings with weld maps, bend data, and marking
-
3D coordination models (Siemens NX / AutoCAD) for clash and access checks

Exterior Engineering
We provide a custom-tailored approach for each project. Instead of relying on standard 2D arrangements, we often start with a 3D approach. This provides us with more insight and the possibility to simulate more interactions to detect collisions and allows for more precise manufacturing.

Building Kit
When the design is near completion, building preparations often begin. Part of this process for Trimm includes a complete building package that would result in the construction of the vessel. As shipyards often have their own construction standards, these yard-specific standards are incorporated into the building kit provided by Trimm. This ensures a smoother and less troublesome process from start to finish—saving both time and money.
